Hypertime User Guide

Everything Hypertime can do, explained step by step. Hypertime is an information and record-keeping tool — it does not give financial advice, connect to a brokerage, or place trades.

Getting started

Hypertime helps you follow companies on the NYSE and Nasdaq whose share price has fallen below one dollar and that are working to get back into compliance with their exchange. It brings the filings, deadlines, prices and your own records together in one place.

Create your account

  1. Select Sign In at the top right of any page.
  2. Create an account with your email address, or continue with Google.
  3. Confirm your email address if you are asked to.
  4. You are returned to the Compliance Desk, signed in.

Hypertime is an information and record-keeping tool. It does not give financial advice, does not connect to a brokerage account, and never places a trade or moves money.

The Compliance Desk

The Compliance Desk is the home page. It lists companies trading under one dollar that have received a notice from their exchange, with the deadline they are working towards and how much time is left.

Find a company

  1. Type a ticker or company name into the search box at the top of the desk.
  2. Choose the company from the suggestions to open its page.
  3. Or use the filters and sorting controls to narrow the list, for example by exchange or by how much time remains.

What each card shows

  • The current share price and how it has moved.
  • The type of notice the company received.
  • Its compliance deadline and the days remaining.
  • Buttons to save the company, add an investment, or set up alerts.

Browsing without an account

  • You can read the Compliance Desk and company pages without signing in.
  • Signed-out visitors may ask Hypertime to go and fetch fresh information three times in any 24-hour period. A short line near the Refresh Data button always says how many of those requests are left.
  • Opening a page that is already saved, reading a company page again, sorting, filtering, loading more results or moving around the site never uses one of the three.
  • Once the three are used, everything already saved stays readable — only the buttons that would fetch something new are switched off, and the line tells you when another becomes available.
  • Signing in removes that visitor limit, but your account still has its own refresh waiting times and its own limits on which information sources it can use.

To count those three requests fairly, Hypertime turns the network address a request comes from into a scrambled code that cannot be turned back into an address. It is stored separately from the shared company information and deleted automatically after 24 hours.

Company pages

Selecting a company opens its full page. A compact menu under the main header lets you jump straight to any part of the page.

Sections you may see

  • Overview — price, exchange and the current compliance position.
  • Cure Timeline — the notice date, the deadline, and any extension.
  • Compliance Evidence — quotations taken directly from the company's own filings, each labelled with what it does and does not confirm.
  • Company — the business description, sector and key figures.
  • ROI Calculator and Outcome Calculator — tools for testing possible results.
  • Investment Lab — the What If I Had Invested? tool.
  • Latest Coverage — recent news about the company.

Compliance Evidence is produced by reading the filings directly, sentence by sentence. It does not use artificial intelligence, and it only reports a step as taken when the company itself clearly states it.

Recording an actual investment

An actual investment is money you really invested through a brokerage or another platform. Hypertime records and monitors what you enter, but it does not verify or execute anything.

Add one

  1. Open the company page, or find its card on the Compliance Desk.
  2. Select Save Investment.
  3. Choose Actual Investment as the type.
  4. Enter the number of shares, the price you paid per share, and the date.
  5. Select Save. The position now appears under My Investments.

Record more purchases later

  1. Open the position from My Investments.
  2. Select Add Purchase and enter the shares, price and date of that purchase.
  3. Hypertime keeps each purchase separately and works out your average cost for you.

Training Wheels simulated investments

Training Wheels lets you create a hypothetical investment and follow how it would have performed, without investing any real money. It is available on every Hypertime account.

What Training Wheels does not do

  • It does not connect to a brokerage account.
  • It does not place an order or transfer any money.
  • It does not represent a holding you actually own.
  • It is never included in your real portfolio totals.

Create a simulated investment

  1. Open the company you want to follow.
  2. Select Save Investment, or the Training Wheels button on the company page.
  3. Choose Training Wheels as the investment type.
  4. Enter the number of shares, a price per share and a date, exactly as you would for a real purchase.
  5. Select Save. The position appears with a Training Wheels label wherever it is shown.

Follow how it performs

  1. Go to My Investments.
  2. Use the Training Wheels filter to show only your simulated positions.
  3. The Simulated Investment Summary above the list shows the simulated amount invested, the simulated current value and the simulated gain or loss.
  4. Open a position to see its purchases, calculators and news, just like an actual investment.

How simulated positions are kept separate

  • Every simulated position carries a Training Wheels label, in words as well as colour.
  • Simulated amounts are never added to the totals in the bar under the main menu.
  • You can hold both an actual and a simulated position in the same company; they are kept apart and never combined.
  • Purchases you record against a simulated position stay with that position only.

Change the type of a position

  1. Open the position from My Investments.
  2. Select Change Investment Type.
  3. Read what will change, then confirm.
  4. Every purchase you recorded is kept. If you already have a position of the other type in the same company, nothing is changed and the two are never merged.

A simulated position is a simulation only. Prices, gains and losses shown for it are hypothetical, are not a prediction, and are not investment advice.

Watchlist and alerts

Follow a company without recording an investment

  1. Select the watch control on a company card or company page.
  2. Open Watchlist from the main menu to see everything you follow.

Set up alerts

  1. Open a company and select Configure Alerts.
  2. Choose what you want to hear about, such as a price level or an approaching deadline.
  3. Save. New alerts appear on the bell in the main menu and on the Alerts page.

Calculators and the Investment Lab

The tools

  • ROI Calculator — enter an amount and a target price to see the possible return.
  • Outcome Calculator — compare what happens if a company recovers, stays where it is, or is delisted.
  • Investment Lab (What If I Had Invested?) — choose a past date and an amount to see what that investment would be worth today.

Use the Investment Lab

  1. Open a company page and go to Investment Lab.
  2. Enter the amount and the starting and ending dates.
  3. Select Calculate. If the dates are the wrong way round, the page tells you exactly what to fix and keeps what you typed.
  4. Save the scenario if you want to come back to it. Saved scenarios are private to you.

All calculator results are hypothetical illustrations based on historic prices. They are not predictions and not advice.

Your portfolio totals

When you are signed in, a bar under the main menu stays visible as you scroll. It shows the total you have invested, the current value of those investments, and how many companies you hold.

  • These totals include your actual investments only.
  • Training Wheels positions are never counted in them.
  • Values update as fresh market prices arrive; the bar tells you when they were last refreshed.

Connected Brokerages

Connected Brokerages lets you link a supported brokerage account so Hypertime can show the positions you already hold there. The connection is read-only. Hypertime cannot place, change or cancel a trade, and cannot move money.

The feature is being released gradually. If it is not yet switched on for your account, the page tells you so and nothing else happens.

Connect a brokerage account

  1. Open Connected Brokerages from the menu at the top right.
  2. Read what Hypertime will and will not be able to do, then tick the box confirming you understand the connection is read-only.
  3. Select Connect a Brokerage Account. Our connection provider opens in a new window and asks you to sign in to your brokerage.
  4. If your browser blocks that window, use the link Hypertime shows to continue.
  5. Hypertime never sees your brokerage username, password, security codes or security questions.
  6. When you are returned to Hypertime, your accounts and positions are listed for you to review. If you close the window without finishing, Hypertime simply says no connection was made.

Choose what to bring into Hypertime

  1. Nothing is added to My Investments automatically.
  2. For each position, choose Add to My Investments or Not now.
  3. Positions you add are recorded as actual investments, never as Training Wheels.
  4. Securities Hypertime does not yet support are shown but cannot be added.

If a holding looks like one you already entered

  1. Hypertime asks you to review it instead of guessing or merging on its own.
  2. Choose These are the same holding to link them, Keep them separate, or Archive my entry from totals.
  3. Archiving keeps your own record but stops it being counted twice in your totals.

Keeping information up to date

  • Select Update now to ask your brokerage for fresh information. There is a short wait between manual updates, and a daily limit on automatic ones.
  • If an update fails, the last information received stays on screen with the date it was received.
  • Information from your brokerage may be delayed, incomplete, or missing. Hypertime shows Unavailable rather than inventing a number.
  • If your brokerage needs you to sign in again, the connection shows that it needs attention and offers Reconnect securely.
  • You can rename a connection to tell several accounts apart.

Disconnect or delete

  1. Select Disconnect to stop all future updates.
  2. Select Delete imported data to also remove everything imported from that brokerage.
  3. Investments you entered yourself, and Training Wheels positions, are never removed by either action.

Connected Brokerages is read-only and information-only. Hypertime holds no ability to trade. Amounts shown come from your brokerage, may be delayed or incomplete, and are not investment advice.

Your account and privacy

  • Your investments, simulated positions, watchlist, alerts and saved scenarios are private to your account and are never shown to anyone else.
  • Open Account from the menu at the top right to manage your details and membership.
  • Company information, prices and filings shown on Hypertime are public data.
